The Buffalo Sabres were hoping to get goaltender Linus Ullmark signed to a contract extension ahead of Monday’s 3pm ET trade deadline, but sources have told TFP a new deal is not currently in the cards.
According to TFP Editor-in-Chief David Pagnotta, Ullmark plans on testing the free agent market as an unrestricted free agent this summer and will not sign a contract with the Sabres at this time. The netminder has not ruled out signing a new deal in the off-season.
Ullmark, 27, signed a one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Sabres on Oct. 25, 2020.
In 19 games with the Sabres this season, Ullmark has posted a 9-6-3 record with a 2.64 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage.
