This Saturday’s vendors are: A Few of My Favorite Things (variety), A Whole World of Good (artisan items), BA Barnart (metal art), Bruno’s Pizza, Burek Farms, Critter Creations (pet items), Happy Frog Soaps, Heaven Help Us Pastries, Hicks Chriropractic Center, La Porte County Master Gardeners, Little Bo’s Sweets (baked goods), Nancy’s Nature Trove (plants and crafts), Stamper Cheese, and Usborne Books. More information on their products is listed on the graphic above.
According to its web page, the farmers market “strives to build and strengthen the local-food movement in La Porte by creating a vibrant community gathering place showcasing our region’s bounty, creating economic opportunities, and bringing healthy options to our citizens.” (web page: http://www.cityoflaporte.com/245/Farmers-Market ). Nearly 95% of products available at the market are sold directly by the producer. The market is open Saturdays through Oct. 9.
The farmers market is sponsored by the La Porte Urban Enterprise Association in partnership with the La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership (LEAP). Lindsay Jongkind is manager; contact her at 219.324.8584 or lindsayj@laportepartnership.com.
