The new Glencoe Farmers Market has been a hit, according to the Glencoe Village eNews.
The weekly market opened June 10 and will run every Thursday through Sept. 30. It’s open from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at the Wyman Green in downtown Glencoe.
According to the farmers market website, the new Glencoe market is one of only two markets in the Chicago area featuring local, organic produce grown by North Shore vendors.
It is managed by Ed Kugler, who has managed the nearby Ravinia Farmers Market in Highland Park since 2017.
“The Glencoe Farmers Market focuses on locally grown and sourced, quality, organic, sustainable and earth-friendly products,” the farmers market website says. “We provide not simply an essential service, but an incredible service to the community.”
There is live music and festivities every week. For more information on the vendors, music and upcoming events, click here.

Golf outing in Wilmette raises $400K for PAWS Chicago
PAWS Chicago, the city’s largest No Kill humane organization, hosted its inaugural “Fore! Paws” Golf Outing on June 14 at the Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette.
After having to cancel several fundraising events since the start of the pandemic, this sold-out, in-person event welcomed more than 150 guests for a day of golf, dinner and entertainment, according to a press release.
The summer golf outing raised $400,000 to help PAWS Chicago save the lives of countless homeless dogs and cats.
Emceed by media sponsor FOX 32 Chicago’s Jake Hamilton, the evening’s program featured a paddle raise and a one-of-a-kind live and silent auction to raise much-needed funds for PAWS Chicago’s critical programs, the release says.
