The local housing market held relatively steady compared to the previous month, according to the August report from the
Greater Owensboro REALTOR Association. While about 20 less homes were sold than August 2020, the average price was up more than $50,000.The average price of homes sold in Owensboro in August 2021 was $224,043 — marking a new high for the year. There were 162 homes sold last month.
The average days on the market slightly increased to 57 days compared to 53 in June, but was still well below the 72 in August 2020.
The current inventory of homes grew again, with 194 active listings — matching the most since November 2020.
