This year for the first time Coral Gables will celebrate the season with a multisite Holiday Market during three December weekends. With more than 25 artisanal vendors offering holiday-themed goods, food and activities, the Holiday Market on Fridays and Saturdays, December 3- 4, 10-11, and 17-18 begins at 4 pm each day and is produced by the Business Improvement District (BID) of Coral Gables.
Everyone is invited to shop for tree ornaments, homemade fudge, gourmet gift baskets, fresh kettle-popped corn, among many other local and international specialties at sites on Miracle Mile, McBride Plaza, and Giralda Plaza. Santa will be strolling around the Downtown area, listening to children’s wishes for Christmas and posing for pictures. At Giralda Plaza young visitors can take part in a daily story time.
Do it yourself activities like creating scented candles, Christmas wreaths and floral centerpieces will be available at McBride Plaza. And what’s Christmas without snow even in South Florida? There will be snow at every hour–specially made in front of the Fritz and Franz beer house.
“Downtown Coral Gables is one of the most unique, cultural and community centered shopping destinations Greater Miami has to offer,” says Aura Reinhardt, Executive Director, Business Improvement District (BID) of Coral Gables. “Why not take the challenge to only shop locally this year at our Holiday Market or at one of our local boutiques, jewelers, and array of specialty stores.”
Adds Reinhardt, “Experiential gifts are all the rage this year like visits to the theatre, art cinema, museum or one of our numerous fine restaurants. We all know gift cards make wonderful stocking stuffers!”
The Business Improvement District (BID) Holiday Market of Coral Gables in collaboration with Florida Fresh Markets is sure to be an intercultural Christmas spectacular that the community and Greater Miami guests will not want to miss.
